Petra Bullock Table Lamp November 07th, 2018 - 12:49:24
A table lamp out of it that we can put our beach agates in and of course, you could use any type of glass container, you could recycle a used glass bottle, whatever fits, and basically as part of this process, though, we'll need to drill a hole and that's going to require using an electric portable drill. It's not suggested that you use a wired drill because you're going to need to use water to cool the bit which in this case, we're using a half inch diamond coated, hole bit to drill the hole and we'll cool the bit with water.
While we're drilling the hole and you don't want to use a course of a power drill - that's plugged into the wall because you don't want to have an electrifying experience for this project, you will need a pair of heavy-duty leather gloves, an electric cordless drill, safety, glasses And we're using a clear style, lamp cord, a little bit of clear adhesive silicon sealant we're using a half-inch diamond-tipped drill bit a large canning jar with the snap-tight lid, some rubber grommets for the pass-through for the lamp cord, some various sized threaded pipe nipples.
The actual lamp base itself, some stainless steel, washers and tapped nuts for fastening the threaded pipe and then, of course, whatever you're filling the lamp with, in our case, their Alaskan beech agates, so you'll be able to open it up and fill it with whatever and close It back off so basically, the toughest part of this whole process is going to be drilling these holes in the glass using our diamond coated bit, and to do that, especially for the top.
